Instructions for casting wax pendants

Please exercise due care and caution when following all instructions and performing the described procedures. Hot wax can cause burns. Special attention is required when crafting with children. Necessary precautions should always be taken. These include, for example, stable containers that won't easily tip over and appropriate work clothing.

You need:

1) Mold for casting wax pendants

2) Wax or Beeswax

3) Metal yarn/cord

4) Thin wooden stick

5) Scissors and a ruler

6) A stovetop (electric, not gas)

7) A pot

Instructions

1) Pour the wax into a pot, ideally with a spout. This makes pouring easier. Milk pans, for example, have a spout.

2) Heat some wax on the lowest heat setting.

3) Place the mold on a surface (e.g., a cutting board). This way you won't contaminate the tabletop if you pour too much wax into the mold too quickly.

4) Cut off about 10 cm of the cord using scissors and a ruler.

5) Slowly pour the wax into the mold. After a few seconds, some wax will begin to solidify at the bottom of the mold.

6) Now use the wooden stick to press the two ends of the cord into the liquid wax.

7) Let the pendant cool in the mold.

8) Once the pendant has cooled down, you can remove the finished wax pendant from the mold.
